Tango Argentino
Tango is a sad thought you can dance ...
Tango is nostalgia of the irretrievably lost, longing for expectation, melancholy of the unfulfilled, poetry of live ...
Tango came into being from 1850 to 1880 in the south of Buenos Aires, in the dockland La Boca. A cheerful dance mixed from Black, Creole and Spanish elements. The social occasions for dancing this music were called "Milongas", what approximately can be translated with "confusion". Today the vivid Milonga is considered the origin of real Tango Argentino.
The Bandoneon - at the end of the 19th century, sailors brought this instrument to Buenos Aires, which has become a fundamental part of present-day Tango. In 1840 it had been developed by the German music teacher Heinrich Band on the basis of the German Concertina: 144 notes, which, however, found their absolute expression only in Argentina. It was joined by the Contrabass, and from 1920 up to now, an orquestra tipica consists of two bandoneons, two violins, the piano and the bass.

In 1910 Argentine Tango had already been danced and taught all over Paris. Carlos Gardel, the penniless boy from the central market district of Buenos Aires, becomes the idol of Argentina. He personifies the fairy tale all immigrants have dreamt of. He becomes a world-famous star, who has risen from nowhere to glory, and who has brought the Tango through records, films and shows to the whole world, as an Argentinian cultural asset.
